The 23rd Korea-U.S. Integrated Defense Dialogue (hereafter "KIDD") were
held on September 18, 2023, in Seoul. Established in 2011, the KIDD is a key
biannual ASD-level consultative mechanism of the ROK-U.S. Alliance that
aims for a timely and effective bilateral security consultation. For the 23rd
KIDD, Dr. Heo Tae Keun, Deputy Minister for National Defense Policy
(DEPMIN), led the ROK delegation while Cara Allison Marshal, Acting
Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for East Asia, led the U.S. delegation. Key senior
ROK and U.S. defense and foreign affairs officials also participated.
